You Will Lose A Big Portion of Your AdSense Earnings If You Don’t Do This

You are working hard creating good and quality content for your Google AdSense web site. You carefully plan a good link building strategy for your Google AdSense web site. You distribute your articles through article distribution channels regularly. You submit your Google AdSense web site to web directories and you have done basic search engine optimization on all of your AdSense pages. You work extremely hard to get as much traffic as possible to your Google AdSense web site.

One day, you receive an email from a webmaster who owns a huge mailing list informing you that your site will be featured in his newsletter. You are happy that someone likes your Google AdSense web site and he will promote your web site for free. You start receiving huge amount of referral traffic from his newsletter. Instead of getting 2000 hits per day, you are getting 200,000 hits per day now. This sudden traffic surge boosts the number of clicks on your Google AdSense ads. Your Google AdSense earning is increased by a few folds.

Before you know it, you receive an email from Google saying that your account is suspended due to “invalid clicks”. You did not click on your Google AdSense ad intentionally or accidentally. Everything you did so far does not violate the Google AdSense terms and conditions. You could not figure what went wrong and why your Google AdSense account is suspended.

Sudden Jump in Google Earnings Triggers Red Flag

The sudden jump in your Google earnings has alerted the Google AdSense team and the result is the suspension of your Google AdSense account. In fact, this happened to a dozen of Internet Marketers. However they managed to get their Google AdSense account fully reinstate using the right strategy.
If your AdSense account is suspended because of the sudden jump of your Google AdSense earning, you should stay calm and plan the right strategy before you talk to Google. You should be patient when dealing with Google. You should be polite when communicate with them and take initiative to provide them with all the documents they may need. You should not argue with them why they have suspended your account unfairly. After all, your main purpose is to get your Google AdSense Account reinstated.

Jason has written General Guideline for AdSense Reinstatement. This is a detail guideline on how to get your Google AdSense account reinstated if you have not violated Google AdSense terms and conditions. He also provides a few examples of correspondence he was using to get his account reinstated.

In conclusion, to avoid any disruption to your Google AdSense business, it may be a good idea to alert Google AdSense team about the possible surge of traffic that your Google AdSense web site may receive.

How To Fire Someone

If you manage people for any length of time, it’s likely that, at some stage, you’ll need to let one or more people go.

It might be because they aren’t performing to your expectations; because you no longer need their role performed; or because they’ve breached the law or a company policy.

Whatever the circumstances, firing or retrenching someone is a confronting and often stressful task.

Here are some suggestions to make the process easier and less traumatic — for you as well as the person you need to dismiss.

Depending on why you need to let someone go — whether it’s due to poor performance, a role that’s no longer needed, or a legal or policy breach — here’s what I suggest you do…

1. Poor Performance

Firing or relocating someone because of poor performance is often the trickiest situation because (a) it may be unclear why your employee is underperforming, and (b) depending on the

relevant labor laws, it may be difficult for you to prove that he or she is underperforming and that you’re legally justified in firing him or her.

So, if you are dissatisfied with someone, the first step is to work out why he or she has performed so poorly. Specifically, is it because of:

- You
- The organization, or
- The poor performer?

Beginning with you… are you managing the person satisfactorily?

This is important because not only may it be unnecessary to fire your staff member (i.e. you might find that his or her performance picks up simply by changing the way you manage) but you could also avoid a “wrongful dismissal” claim being thrust on you. For tips on how to manage people check out my free report, How To Be An Outstanding Manager — The 8 Vital Keys To Managing People Effectively (see below).

Alternatively, if both you and your employee work for someone else… has that “someone else” — i.e. your organization — somehow failed to provide enough resources for your employee to do his or her job properly? Is it failing to give you the support you need to carry out your management responsibilities?

If so, you may need to ask for changes or more support from the “powers that be”. And remember, if the company is to blame… firing and replacing your employee will not improve matters.

Unless… it’s your staff member — and neither you nor your company are responsible for the poor performance.

Is the employee ill suited to the role? Does he or she lack key talents, skills or knowledge?

Are their personality clashes with you or other colleagues that are interfering with his or her work? Or are there personal issues that are affecting the employee’s attitude or performance at work?

Above all, is there anything you can do about any of this?

If not — and you’ve done all you can to help your employee improve — then the writing in on the wall. You cannot afford to keep people on who don’t pull their weight!

Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean you can’t fire someone in a fair and compassionate way.

In fact, you can make it easier by giving the employee plenty of notice — at least 1 month and up to 2 months if the job market is tight and you can afford it.

And if, during this time, you don’t want the employee to continue doing his or her old job, give him or her other work to do.

Lastly, let the individual apply for jobs and attend interviews. Even better (if you can afford it), pay for him or her to attend career change training, where he or she will learn how to prepare, or update, his or her resume and apply for new jobs.

2. The Role Is No Longer Needed

If you simply don’t have enough work to go around — or it’s clear that a particular employee’s role is no longer needed — you’ll have to “retrench” him or her.

In this case, it’s important to remember that the worker is not to blame for losing his or her job.

If you can, redeploy the employee in another role. But if that’s not feasible try to be extra considerate when letting him or her go by providing plenty of notice, letting him or her apply for jobs on your dime, and paying for career change training.

3. Legal / Corporate Policy Breach

Now we come to what may appear to be the easiest situation in which to sack someone — where the employee has breached the law or a corporate policy.

Well, it can still be tough, if not tougher!

First of all, if you think someone has done something wrong, make sure you have solid proof before making any accusations or commencing the dismissal process. And comply with all corporate
and legal requirements.

Secondly, be prepared to give the employee a fair hearing… and be prepared for what he or she has to say.

If there are extenuating circumstances, you might take these into account when deciding whether and how to sack the individual, depending on your professional, corporate and legal obligations.

For example, you might decide to put the employee on some kind of “probation.”

Be very careful about taking it easy on someone who has clearly lied, stolen or breached your trust, though. While it might seem only fair to help out a person you let go because of poor
performance, or because his or her role is no longer required… when it comes to a wrongdoer…

I reckon you should cut the “dead wood” out of your team or organization before the rot starts to spread!

So there you have some general tips for firing or letting someone go. Hopefully, if you do need to use these tips, you’ll find the task of dismissing someone much easier and less stressful.

Mp3’s - The Future of Music?

Mp3 music is audio that has been digitally encoded and compressed to make the amount of data smaller without compromising the overall sound quality. It’s a revolutionary technique with incredibly good results; mp3 music is frequently indistinguishable from music found on a CD (though some audiophiles with very sensitive ears dispute that statement).

The popularity of mp3 music made available on the Internet is a trend reaching gigantic proportions; these encoded songs are everywhere. Websites called mp3 blogs offer rare or hard-to-find mp3 music and avid fans sometimes spend hours at a time sifting through the piles of downloadable material. Newer recording artists that would often fall under the radar without the help of a well-known label are now able to convert their songs into mp3 music and make them available on the Internet, allowing huge numbers of people the chance to hear songs that they otherwise wouldn’t have been exposed to. It’s an extremely popular thing, mp3 music, one of those rare pop-culture phenomena embraced by nearly everyone.

But regardless of its massive popularity, mp3 music is surrounded with controversy. Many programs that allow users to transfer mp3 music directly from computer to computer offer the services for free, eliminating the possibility of royalties for the artist and label. Fearful of losing tons of money to fans downloading records instead of buying them, large factions of the music industry fought to make free mp3 music illegal — and succeeded to a degree. The laws, however, have loopholes, and many websites or P2P programs have exploited them for all they’re worth.

Additionally, laws regulating mp3 music in the United States aren’t necessarily applicable to other countries, so new websites and programs (particularly, for some reason, in Russia) have popped up offering the free services railed against in America. Because of the hotly argued ethical issues surrounding mp3 music, many shy away from the topic (and practice) completely. Others embrace it, citing huge record costs as justification enough for free mp3 music. It’s an argument not likely to end anytime soon; the ethical issues will be debated as long as free mp3 music is available somewhere.

In any case, MP3’s are here to stay, and wise is the musician who learns about them and takes advantage of them.

Find a Weight Loss Program that Works for You

Millions of people struggle with weight issues every yearand despite claims that a wonder diet can “work for everybody”, the fact is that each of those individuals have a medical history, a personality, or a lifestyle issue that affects whether or not that weight control technique will help them shed those pounds.

But while nothing works for everybody, there is something that will work for you…and the challenge is to find it, identify it, and stick to it.

For some people, appetite control is extremely difficult. Some weight loss programs try to tackle that problem by delving into the psychological issues behind food (these are the total lifestyle body makeovers, whose techniques include keeping a food journal and coming to terms with one’s body image). Others address the problem through metabolism, introducing or removing certain foods in one’s diet that are said to either trigger appetite. Still others, like diet pills, act as appetite suppressants. Other programs rely on nutritional substitutes, like heavy shakes that make one feel full and provide adequate vitamins and minerals, while reducing calories.

For others, it’s not appetite that’s problematic, it’s the kind of food they eat. Certain diet programs give very strict diet regimens that promote weight loss, because of the way the body digests the food. Some are short-term, meant to shed pounds over a limited period of time; others are long-term lifestyle changes. The success of these diet programs depend largely on the person’s weight loss goals and level of commitment. Needless to say, if you just want to drop a dress size for your wedding, you may not be ready to go into something long-term. But if you have health problems, and need to control cholesterol levels, then a short-term solution would not be very effective.

Other weight loss programs are closely tied with exercise routines. Of course, not all exercise regimens will appeal to an individual; some would find yoga interesting, while others would prefer something like belly dancing. The idea is that one picks what is most interesting to themthe more fun and enjoyment they derive from a routine, the more likely they will stick to it.

The mistake that many people make is that they don’t consider their own lifestyle or personality when they try a diet or exercise regimen; they go with what everyone else is doing, or jump on the weight loss bandwagon on the premise that it worked for so-and-so. While it’s okay to experiment with different regimens (wouldn’t hurt to try anything once), ultimately it is a search to find what is personally appealing.

Another secret to maintaining a diet or exercise regimen is to have very clear and realistic goals. “Be thin” is too general to be meaningful; pinpoint a number, and a date: “Lose 15 pounds by September.” And to avoid discouragement, that goal must be humanly achievable and should never compromise with one’s health. If a diet makes one dizzy, or radically affects one’s ability to be fully alert and functional, then stop immediately.

Luckily there is a wide variety of weight loss regimens. There’s bound to be one that will help one meet one’s goals and match one’s lifestyle.

In Pit Row

St. Petersburg, Florida
April 3, 2005

Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

What follows are the observations and half-baked thoughts of a total racing neophyte, an automotive slob who wouldn’t know a spark plug from a flux-capacitor.

Our hero is P.J. Chesson the 26 year old race car driver from the gentrified horse country of N.J. This is his second year racing the Menards Infiniti PRO Series, which is like the minor league of IndyCar. He racked up 3 consecutive wins and a number of top 5’s in his first year racing on pavement. P.J. is driving for a new team this year and things are tense, he crashed during qualifying in the first two races of this season. (The drivers are responsible for the damages themselves if they are incurred outside the actual race). The team is a real step down from his rookie season and the car reflects this. His girlfriend is Echo Johnson, she is somewhat older than P.J. (though I lack the conviction to ask how much) she is a former Playboy model from Austin, Texas.

P.J. seemed unaffected by the same thoughts I was having when I stepped into the ‘hot pit’. My first thought on coming close to these diminutive fighter jets, with one extra wheel, is something like ‘you’d have to be a jockey to fit into one these little f*ckers’….The national anthem is over, worked over with a butchers clever by some American Idol hack. The honorary starter is Andrew Firestone, I regret to report that it looks like the Queer Eye Guys have gotten there hands on another one. The engines roar to life and Echo and I are told to get off the track, an order which we ignore only because it was said with such little authority… The second warm-up lap is over and the green flag goes up, supposedly, though who the hell knows, it’s too loud and the Florida sun is too bright to notice the little things. I will say dear reader with total honesty and full disclosure that I am fully recovered from Friday nights debauchery in New York, though I had the flight down to think about it.

As P.J. predicted there was a disaster on the opening lap, apparently the first turn is at the end of the straight away and is pretty hairy when the field is all bunched up. A young Brazilian named Jamie Camara was wiped out 3 seconds into this race, though I couldn’t see much from here in pit row. We cannot feel to badly for him as apparently he is the son of the Brazilian Ted Turner, but with no doubt a wonderful Portugaise style that Ted’s mustache could never match. But you can hear the slick little missiles blowing by you at over 150 mph on the straight away, you can feel the power of the engines, you can smell the rocket fuel exhaust.

Another spin out at the 21 lap mark, it gives us a chance to asses P.J.’s race. He is 5 mph off the pace of the leaders, it appears his car not only looks slightly inferior, with its faded blue and white paint job, but it races that way as well. The good news comes in the form of a gangly, somewhat slippery looking Aussie, no doubt descended from a long line of pocket pickers, he assures Echo that P.J. is getting faster with each lap, 2 seconds faster before the latest caution flag. The flag gives him a chance, and all the other stragglers, to catch the leaders and condense the race. A much needed mulligan, that cost someone serious dough and a possible trip to the school nurse. I haven’t given it much thought before, but I guess it is designed to make the race more exciting, tighter for the fans, as there is not speed limit for anyone as long as you don’t pass the guy ahead of you.

Eventually you can catch up to the leader who is being held back by an extremely ugly pace car (actually a truck). A boost for the little guy. A hold out for democracy in an America where evil empires and dynasties reign supreme.

Anyway, I neglected to inform you that the slippery looking ‘bloke’ also told Echo that PJ was saying his brakes were getting soft, even to me this didn’t sound promising. Apparently all the drivers were reporting the same, they are not used to braking much around an oval track, which most of these guys have cut their teeth on. PJ does not strike me as someone who has ever considered using his breaks for any reason.

Echo appears to be a real distraction for the S.P.F.R. fire fighter next to us, standing behind an open 40 gallon barrel of water. What good that will do is totally suspect. 10 laps to go, let’s pray there are no fires near me needing the attention of this valiant lecher… The rather sparse crowd has gone up in a round of applause, I can tell by the subdued nature of the cheer that it is not a firey crash these vultures are applauding, but a skilled pass somewhere out there. Marco Andretti is beating other drivers with names like Unser and Drake, most with JR, III, or the IV. PJ has moved into 7th place with another driver spinning out.

I want to take a bottle of water out of the cooler next to me, but I dare not offend the natives, with their colorful garments and funny head wear. Clearly I am an outsider trespassing on a world of insiders. It’s a good thing I know one of the chiefs and happen to be standing next to his beautiful concubine.

5 laps to go, surely only a disastrous miracle will propel our man into victory lane, or anywhere near it. But a victory was not expected by anyone but me, who knows less than any of the morbidly obese children starting to fill the stands behind me in anticipation of the big cars racing later today. The drivers and their girlfriends, however, are descended from a different stock than their fans. The girlfriends can easily be identified from all the other women track side by their bleached and surgically enhanced good looks. Is it my imagination or are they all taller than their men? More research is needed, Ill have to survey them on this at the next race and get back to you… Race car drivers may be the only short men with fast cars able to successfully compensate for their lack of stature.

It looks like Marco Andretti, the 18 year old phenom will drive himself into victory lane. Another victory for patrimony, empires and dynasties everywhere, non the less a well deserved win for the kid. The media swarms the champ, a lot of Japanese media come sprinting down pit row, with their wonderful straight black hair. But wait, here come the blonds, very impressive. Clearly I should have been behind a steering wheel, not a golf ball, from a very early age.

PJ is helped out of his car and looks very pleased. He gets a big hug and a kiss from Echo and congratulations from a number of official looking guys. We’re standing looking at the circus going on around the winner’s car. I sense he is happy with finishing 7th and I ask as much, “I finished a f*cking race in ‘05 baby” clearly a weight off his shoulders….PJ talks shop with some of the other racers and his crew for a while. We all jump on the scooter PJ, Echo then me, when I realize that this is about as close as I’ll ever get to a playmate.

As I am standing under the car lift platform, attached to the back of the customized 18 wheeler, in an attempt to find some relief from the unrelenting Florida sun, I hear a soft whining. The sun/shade line is slowly moving across the tarmac, when I come to the conclusion that the mischievous natives are letting me know my place in the strict social hierarchy of their highly evolved culture. I attempt to look cool and collected, calm in the face of their passive aggressive behavior. I barely avoid being slowly crushed by the powerful hydrolic monster, I can hear a few deep grunts.

Perhaps now that I sit here in the Tampa airport, next to a family from one of the outer-boroughs, all of us on our way back to JFK and God only knows where from there, as they verbally abuse two generations of the family, one in a wheel chair and one in a baby stroller, and my head is totally clear of Marquee cobwebs I can say that the pit crew did not see me standing under the car lift and that they were not in it to spill some blood, that warm cloudless Sunday afternoon in St. Petes, but if I don’t believe it neither should you.

Arrived JFK
April 4, 2005

These drivers, and PJ more than any I have met so far, are afflicted by some atavistic need to compete for resources, engage in the hunt, with death not in the shadows but right in front of them, all around them. This Infinity Pro Series seems even more dangerous than their bigger brothers of IndyCar who race the same courses, at only a very few seconds faster per 1.8 mile lap. Why is it, or does it seem, more dangerous if the cars are smaller and slightly slower? The danger lies in the drivers themselves, as I look up from my scratchy writing to notice my Arab friend, whose name I would no doubt need George Tenet to pronounce for me, hurls us at top speed ever closer to certain fear and possible destruction, while playing with his cell phone in one hand and jabbing at his nostrils with the other. I get the distinct feeling we are walking a tight rope at this point and his Israelie girlfriend is screaming at us not to look down at her… The point I so callously veered away from was that these drivers are more dangerous because they are less experienced and they are driving for their lives (no endorsements down here in the minors). I will say however, that their girlfriends appear to be nearly as good looking as those of the IndyCar drivers, with Ashley Judd a more refined exception.

This car ride home is getting really hairy now. We barely made it over the Williamsburg bridge with our lives and now my driver is getting jumpy, he can smell the finish line, victory lane is within his grasp and no one is going to keep him out. There may not be any a hoard of media and groupies, and the purse is barely enough to cover the gas, but these guys race for reasons you and I cant begin to understand.

Great Fishing Opportunities In Oscoda!

Oscoda on the Lake Huron shoreline is a fishing destination not to be missed. It is well known for a range of catches such as lake trout, brown trout, steelhead, pike and salmon.

If the fishing season for your favorite fish is around the corner, you wouldn’t want to delay planning to make the best of your time in Oscoda.

Many fishing enthusiasts make use of the services of experienced Oscoda charter companies. This makes for fishing in real comfortable style!

Some of the craft available from local Oscada companies with decades of experience will include air conditioners and heated cabins with private restroom and wash facilities.

At peak fishing times, it is best to contact the captain of your preferred charter boat in advance to avoid disappointment!

Whether you plan to use your own boat, make use of a charter or simply intend to fish off the pier, you will find Oscada a welcoming community.

In fact, the locals will tell you that some of the best catches have in the past been made right off the pier at the mouth of that great local river, the AuSable!

An option for fishing in the Oscada area is to take River Road to Cooke Dam, with the AuSable River very close by and great fishing of walleye, bass and pike at the Dam.

If you’re staying over at an Oscoda resort, or one of the lodges and guest houses along the AuSable River, you will find that many have river dockage available, with easy access to the AuSable and Lake Huron.

However, before you hit the road for, don’t forget the required Fishing License and Trout Stamp! These licences can be purchased at many of the sporting goods stores in the area, and some Oscada fishing charter services sell daily licenses.

Take A Break From Tradition: Unique Gifts You Can Afford

Finding unique gifts for family and friends can be a challenge for even the most seasoned shopper. Throw in a dash of holiday madness, mass broadcast advertising and several pounds of flyers in your mailbox, and your head might be full of this year’s newest must-have, but not particularly unique gifts. To make an impression, however, toss aside the traditional gift ideas that everyone will be giving and receiving and focus on finding unique gifts that reflect the interests and personality of your gift recipient.

When looking for ideas for unique gifts, think about the person who will be receiving your present. What does he or she like to do for hobbies? Do you know his favorite color or her taste in music or clothing? What does this person need? Is he or she facing any major transitions in the immediate future? Creating an informal profile will help you come up with unique gifts to suit each person on your list.

For example, if you are searching for unique gifts for your wife, take a look in her closet. What colors and styles do you see there? Perhaps you could borrow an outfit or two and take them to a jeweller as inspiration for a piece of custom jewellery like a set of one-of-a-kind earrings made to match her favorite dress. Talk about unique gifts!

A new college student might appreciate unique gifts centered on a school theme, such as a gift certificate to a local furniture or book store, a compilation of his or her favorite songs or perhaps a collage of family photographs or a painting of a loved pet to help decorate a dorm room.

Depending on what you choose, unique gifts don’t have to be pricy gifts. Some of the most cherished and unique gifts are those that are handmade. Consider some of the following:

Unique gifts you can make:

• Scrapbooks - these can be as playful or as elegant as your imagination, and are a great way to store and present photos.

• Ornaments - delightful ornaments for Christmas and other occasions can be crafted with only a minimum of resources. Use common materials such as beads, wire and glue to create lovely and memorable pieces.

• Clothing & accessories - if you can sew, knit, or crochet, the possibilities for unique gifts are endless: using simple patterns, beginners can make hats, scarves, mittens, handbags, skirts, jackets and more.

• Stories, songs and artwork - if you’re a gifted writer, musician or artist it would be a shame not to turn your talents into unique gifts that family members and friends are sure to cherish, so be creative!

If you aren’t the hands-on type, you can also purchase unique gifts throughout the year. Keep others in mind as you browse through craft markets, auction sales or artisans’ fairs, and if you find something wonderful, tuck it away until the next birthday, Christmas, anniversary or other event. Your thoughtfulness will be appreciated, and everyone will be wondering how just you find such perfect and unique gifts.

2Shop offers 100% genuine brands at heavily reduced prices. For our range of unique gifts and unique gift ideas check out our store today.

Mental Alchemy: How to Change Your Experience of Reality

Back in the Middle Ages alchemists sought to transform base
metal into gold. They searched for an elusive substance, the
philosopher’s stone, which would bring about this conversion,
known as alchemy. But to initiates of the ancient mystery
schools, alchemy was primarily an allegory for the real work of
spiritual and mental alchemy.

Spiritual alchemy is the process of transforming a less evolved
soul personality into a more refined one. The founders of all
major religions have attempted to expedite this transformation
by providing rules to help people achieve this goal and also
lead happier and more productive lives. Enlightenment,
illumination, the perfection of the soul all point to this
ultimate goal. Mystics from all religions have studied the
universal laws to speed up this process, which they believe
occurs over many lifetimes.

Mental alchemy is the process of transmuting your thoughts to
improve your life and expand your mind. The good news is that
this discipline can produce immediate, beneficial results in
your current life, in some cases instantly.

Mental alchemy involves the replacement of beliefs that are
hindering your development with positive ones that will help
you. You might say that sounds straightforward-why would this be
so difficult?

It turns out it’s extremely difficult to change beliefs. There
are three reasons for this:

1) Most people mistake their beliefs for the truth. Even
if it’s not in their best interest, some people resign
themselves to their fate because they mistakenly accept a belief
as true.

2) Beliefs operate at the subconscious level. Most people
are unaware of their subconscious beliefs, which are often in
conflict with their conscious thoughts. For example, a woman may
consciously be seeking love, but subconsciously she may feel
she’s unworthy. Unless her belief is made conscious and
transmuted, it will continue to sabotage her efforts. See our
last newsletter Get Out of Jail Free: How to Identify
Unconscious Beliefs.

3) You see what you believe. Less than 100 years ago
physicists were trying to determine whether light was a wave or
a particle. The answer depended on what you believed you would
find. If you believed light was made of particles, then you
could design an experiment that proved it. Conversely, if you
believed light consisted of waves then you could design another
experiment to prove that.

The placebo effect provides another example. In drug trials
required to gain FDA approval, 40% of patients, on average, will
obtain relief from placebos. They get better simply because they
believe they will get better. Placebos have actually helped
people with Parkinson’s disease.

The mystic principle behind these results is called the Law of
Attraction or “like attracts like.” In the mystic world, and now
in the world of quantum physics, we know that everything is
energy. Everything has its own vibration, including a belief.
People attract to themselves those experiences that match their
existing belief system. They get to see what they believe.

So how does Mental Alchemy work?

Neurologists tell us the brain doesn’t know the difference
between what’s actually experienced and what’s imagined to be
experienced. The same electrical patterns are fired between the
neurons in the brain. The electrical patterns in the brain
reflect how we store and process information, including beliefs.

The ramification of this is profound: you can change your
beliefs using your imagination. It doesn’t matter whether the
belief is true or not.

Let’s take an example of a basketball player who misses the
final shot of the state championship game and his team ends up
losing by one point. This experience can be traumatic and will
often reinforce negative beliefs that he’s a choker or a loser.
Had he made the shot, he would be a hero and filled with the
confidence of a winner.

Let’s say you are the basketball player. What should you do?

First, go to a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for
10-15 minutes. Make sure that none of your objective senses
(sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste) is being stimulated. Take
a few deep breaths. Your goal is to relax and get into an alpha
state. Scientists have shown that you can learn new skills much
more readily while in this state. Meditation is ideal for this.

At this point, you should replay the end of the game in your
mind. Only this time, when you take the final shot, do it with
confidence and watch it go in. Visualize all the fans going wild
as the buzzer sounds and your teammates carry you off the court.
Involve all your senses and imagine how it feels to be the hero!

Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player of all
time, but he probably missed just as many shots at the end of
the game as he made. But you can be quite certain he didn’t
dwell on the missed shots, but simply remembered the
game-winning shots. You can do the same. Use the technique of
Mental Alchemy and change your life.

Travels Through Cyprus

The old goat herder stands before his flock. Stick in hand, he bears the look of experience. His beaten old hat keeps the sun off his unshaven face.

His weathered trousers have seen better days and wear a belt, crudely tied around his waist. His braces are actually two of the elastic straps you use to tie your luggage to the car’s roof rack.

As the sun beats down on the plains of Agia Marina he herds his goats to pastures new and another day of contentment.

When your country has suffered 9000 years of constant invasion, any break in hostilities is greeted with appreciation.

Cyprus is a blend of many influences. Turkish, Greek, Muslim and Christian invaders have all set foot upon this hallowed land and made their mark.

Mosques and Christian churches stand side by side as a reminder of the often turbulent and violent past of Cyprus.

But when free of the shackles of conflict, Cyprus is a place of beauty and discovery. The Byzantine churches amongst the Troodos Mountains are an essential experience.

The sense of history and culture is overwhelming as you journey through mountain passes and wonder at the ancient architecture.

For a genuine sense of solitude try cycling through the barren land of the Karpas Peninsula or hiking the well-trodden trails of Mount Olympus.

The blue crystal waters of Cape Greco provide a wealth of opportunity for swimming and diving.

When the sun goes down, the Cypriot nightlife will have you dancing into the early hours. Youngsters tend to make their way towards the large contingent of British pubs in Agia Napa.

The more cultured make their way to the traditional Cypriot cafes and bars. Here you can drink raki, the local firewater made from distilled grapes.

If you’re peckish, try the baked lamb dish of kleftiko, or another local favourite mezedes.
