Eclipse Internet, a broadband provider, has underscored the importance of having a continuity plan in place for companies, in the eventuality of a swine flu attack affecting businesses.

The Government has come up with a 27-page Digital Britain implementation plan giving out the details of various stages of execution of the plan brought out in the report’s initial draft. Microsoft had recently mentioned that it was quite concerned about the revenue it was losing by the rising popularity of netbooks. It had been widely speculated that the company has since been planning to make a netbook friendly version of Windows 7, its latest operating system. During Microsoft’s Growth and Innovation Day at Brussels, the company’s Vice President of Business Strategy, Neil Holloway told ZDNet UK in an interview that talks were currently going on with various telecom players and other service providers to explore the possibility of netbooks being bundled with products form Microsoft and its partners to increase market presence.

Mr. Holloway also spoke enthusiastically about Carphone Warehouse bundled offers and sounded quite impressed by them. He said the company would want to follow a similar strategy and look for product bundles built around Windows Live and Windows 7.

Netbooks are essentially stripped down versions of laptops, with lesser processing power and features to reduce size and enhance portability.
