Fruit: Nature’s Finest Fast Food
I’m a fruit fanatic. Fruit is the most basic “fast food”. Fruit is super simple to eat, involves no preparation aside from washing and maybe skinning. Just tuck a piece of washed fruit in your bag in the morning then it’s ready any time in the day. In the mid-afternoon at the office, avoid the snack bar and indulge instead in a piece of fruit. Here are a few reasons why fruit is good as a snack:
Fruit holds virtually no fat whatsoever.
Fresh fruits contain a lot of water, which makes them a natural, delicious and nutritious source of your daily water demands.
Fruit is the ultimate brain food. Researchers have found that fruit energizes memory and increases neuro activity in your brain.
Fruit has a lot dietary fiber, which not only discourages digestive issues and colon cancer, but also prevents heart disease.
Fruit is a phenomenal weight loss aid.
Fruits carry a a wide array of phytonutrients, which give you many health benefits.
Fruits are cleansing to the body. Every wholesome detoxification program includes fruit or fruit juices. The lemon is especially purifying. One of the most well known detox diets is the lemon detox diet. (Here is a perfect lemon detox recipe.) I do one 4 times a year and I highly recommend it.
